Patrick Kwan (Hong Kong)

Patrick Kwan is Associate Consultant and Honorary Associate Professor, Division of Neurology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong. He qualified from Cambridge University, England and trained in internal medicine and neurology in the UK and Hong Kong, achieving a PhD from Glasgow University for studies into the natural history and pathogenesis of refractory epilepsy.
Dr Kwan has published widely on the epidemiology of epilepsy and pharmacology of AEDs. His other research interests include the mechanisms of drug resistance, pharmacogenetics, and co-morbidities of epilepsy.
He serves on the editorial boards of Epilepsia, Epilepsy Research, Epileptic Disorders, and CNS Drugs and is a co-founder and currently Vice President of the Hong Kong Epilepsy Society, and Treasurer of the Commission of Asian-Oceanian Affairs of the ILAE.
