Shih Hui Lim (Singapore)

Dr Shih-Hui LIM MBBS, MRCP, M Med (Int Med), FAMS (Neurology), FRCP(Edin), MBA, FACP (Hon), FRACP (Hon), FRCP(London)

Dr Lim is Senior Consultant Adult Neurologist at the National Neuroscience Institute & Singapore General Hospital, and Clinical Associate Professor at National University of Singapore.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore and subsequently trained in Internal Medicine and Adult Neurology. Between 1989 and 1991, he was a Clinical Fellow of the Section of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He obtained his board certification by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology in 1990. After returning to Singapore he developed epilepsy surgery programme and initiated a clinical fellowship programme for epilepsy & clinical neuro physiology.

Dr Lim helped to establish the Singapore Epilepsy Foundation (IBE Chapter), served as Vice-Chairman and now a member of the Medical Advisory Board. He is a founding member the Singapore Epilepsy Society (ILAE Chapter), served as Secretary and now the Vice-President. He was Secretary General of the Asian Oceanian Epilepsy Organization (AOEO) in 1996-2000. He has been an active member the Commission of the Asian Oceanian Affairs (CAOA) of ILAE since1996. He was Treasurer (2001-2006) and now the Chairman of the Commission. From 2000, he has organized and participated in several epilepsy and EEG teaching courses and workshops in Asia, under the auspices of the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA), the educational arm of CAOA. He has initiated an ASEPA-ASNA (ASEAN Neurological Association) EEG Certification Examination in 2005. He is a member of the ILAE Epilepsy Care Commission. He now co-chairs the International Organizing Committee and Scientific Advisory Committee of the 27th International Congress to be held in Singapore from 8th to 12th July 2007.
